What You Need to Know Before Selling on eBay

So you’ve decided that you want to get start selling stuff on eBay. There are a few things that you must know before you start.

What to Sell on eBay

Obviously you need to know what it is that you’re going to sell. What’s your speciality? You will do better on eBay if you become a source for your products. People who are interested in these products will come back to you time and time again. You don’t build any loyalty you just sell junky stuff at random.

Always sell what you know. If you try to sell something that you just don’t know anything about then won’t be able to write a good description or sell it for a good price.

You should then consider which products you could actually obtain for a good price. If you can think of a product like that then you’re knowledgeable about it. If it is small and light enough for postage to be relatively cheap, then that’s the product you want to sell!

If you think that the product you are selling is too obscure - it isn’t. There’s a market for almost everything on eBay. You will probably do even better if you fill a niche rather than selling something common.

Tax and Legal Matters Concerning eBay Sales.

If you earn enough money, you will need to start paying taxes. This won’t be done for you. If you sell on eBay on a full-time basis, you will also need to register as a business with your local authorities.
